The Durance

River essential for the practice of whitewater sports, the Durance navigates all year and walks in an open valley with beautiful landscapes.

From Saint-Clément-sur-Durance to Embrun, there is a 17km course (class II to IV, depending on the water level), marked by the passage of the legendary Rabioux wave, a favorite area for freestyle kayakers.

Ubaye, an impetuous or docile torrent, sails from April to November. From the foot of the Vars pass to the Serre-Ponçon lake, it offers more than 50 km between quiet passages and sports, 60 rapids on 9 courses from class II to class V.

Providers of whitewater or local clubs offer you to discover the Durance and Ubaye and practice, safely, a wide range of activities: rafting, canoeing, kayaking, hot-dog ( rafting for 2 persons) , swimming in white water, etc ...

The territory of Serre-Ponçon offers to fishermen an instant of dreams, relaxation, emotions with a beautiful landscape.
Salmonids have for a long time colonized first-class streams. The Durance, still wild from its source at the bridges of the Embrun, and its tributaries, the torrents of Couleau, Rabioux, Crévoux, Vachères and Réallon, allow the fishermen to satisfy their fishing skills in a mountain environment.
