Largest dam in Europe (made of soil). The lake is an important source of energy, and a gigantic water tank for the agriculture in la Provence, and in the meantime also a place where you can have a lot of fun ! Do you want to know more about the dam and the lake ?  Then go to the museum Muséoscope du Lac, or to the Maison de l’Eau et des Energies of EDF (Électricité de France).

One of the remains of the railway that was supposed to connect Grenoble with Barcelonette.
The project came to a standstill after four years in 1934. At low tide the bridge is completely above the water level, so you can go walking or cycling on it.

Don’t miss out on this one ! The hike with the most beautiful view over the lake and the valley. On the way to the top you will pass the Cirque du Morgon («the Circus»): a small lake, rich fauna and flora. The reward at the top of the mountain (2324m) is the view of 360 ° on the lake of Serre Poncon and the peaks of the national Park Les Ecrins.

Iconic summit (2552m), where the Swedish lieutenant Widman was the first to climb the French Alps on skis on the 12th of February 1897. Mountain maintained by the Prieers of St Guillaume who celebrate it on the second Sunday of July.
