Apiland Nature

Rousset

Description

Apiland is a scenographic space dedicated to bees and a farm whose beekeeping production is nationally recognized. Gold medal at the general agricultural competition in Paris in 2015, 2016 and 2017.

Discover the fascinating world of bees in a magnificent setting at the foot of the Serre-Ponçon dam! From the hive to the anatomy of the bee, Apiland offers you a complete and fun animation around the beekeeping world.

In 2018, Apiland Nature was the only beekeeping operation in France to win the Excellence Award at the Concours Général Agricole de Paris.

Operation:
Apiland is above all 3 generations of beekeepers
With a herd of 250 hives, the Apiland honey house produces a wide variety of honeys every year. From the seaside to the mountains of the Ubaye valley passing through the Valensole plateaus, our apiaries transhume in order to bring a beautiful diversity of honey to our customers. The removal of honey and pollen from flowers is carried out with great respect for the well-being of our bee colonies. All of our production is sold directly in our shop, through online sales or used to make our homemade pastries.

The museum space:
It is an invitation to a total change of scenery, a stroll through the kingdom of small animals. Bees, wasps and hornets will have no secrets for you. You will learn all about our beekeeping profession during the guided tour and much more.
All visits to the Museum are guided, no free visit possible.
Sandrine and Lionel welcome you. They also accompany you, for a visit of about one hour fifteen. Over time they have perfected a generous animated visit around subjects that they master perfectly: Agriculture, Biodiversity & Bees.

Giant sculptures of bee predator insects await you in the large exhibition hall. 100 times larger than the real ones, all faithful to their models in every detail, you will find a wealth of information on their life, their customs, their habitats. Thanks to our giant insect sculptures, bees, hornets and wasps will have no secrets for you.

In the heart of the museum, you can also visit "the mill of Célestin", a moving animation of an old walnut oil mill, a cocktail of sensations thanks to a surprising audiovisual animation in 5.1 surround.
